Part 2: The Montigo Experience

DSC_4751The seafront villas where you get front row seats to the glistening waters, sunsets, and dreamy horizon.
DSC_4395A perfect refuge from the sun.

I love how their reception has everything it needs. A big shelter – lots of shade, plenty of seating room, great ventilation, space and a pleasant view of the sea. On top of that, there’s the awesome-scented cold towel and cooling drink! (´∀`)

After a boat ride into Batam, I just wanna hide in, refresh and hydrate.  [Didn’t allow any edits on this photo to show you what you see is what you get.]

DSC_4394What’s cooler than chic signboards? A map you don’t have to carry around like a dorky tourist!

The very peaceful environment of Montigo’s entrance. When I saw a carpark I thought it could get noisy, but traffic’s so minimal aside from the buggies zipping guests to and fro. Thank God… The sun’s already as hot as it is… (I know, I keep complaining about the sun but it’s extreme on this part of the planet la!)

DSC_4397Montigo’s very own vintage Volkswagen!

I booked Montigo’s Batam tour on this little cutie but unfortunately, it’s so vintage that it couldn’t start! (━┳━ _ ━┳━) What a shame. I sat at the reception for an hour watching a bunch of staff pushing the car around and around the carpark to get it started.

I thought it would have been running by the time I got there instead of waiting for them to test it when I’m already ready to hop on! ᕙ(⇀‸↼‶)ᕗ Disappointed, I headed back to the villa to wait for word on the situation.

Hours later, reception called to say the Volkswagen isn’t able to start, so we had a normal car take us out instead. I guess it was a blessing in disguise as it was hot… and I fell asleep in the first-world air-conditioned vehicle. (●´∀`●)

As I mentioned in my previous post… I did like going out and about Batam but I couldn’t wait to get back. The resort is too pampering!

DSC_4744The quietest public pool ever. Every villa has a private pool mah…

TADD’s, the breakfast place is just as charming at night. Breakfast was marvellous, but sadly, I can’t say the same for dinner. Came here on my first night… Ended up wishing we dined in instead. I dined in on the last day – the food was three times more delicious and three times cheaper!(▼へ▼メ)

However, I will recommend you patronise here during breakfast. The variety is enormous as the food is splendid!ヽ(‘ ∇‘ )ノ

Many food porn… Be prepared to start craving!(>y<)

The service is fabulous too! I mentioned on Instagram before that it was so surreal to see happy, pleasant men frying prata. And on top of cracking an egg into the dough, they douse it with egg batter! (*^ワ^*) I don’t get quality egg prata cooked by nice gentlemen in Singapore for sure.

After a full meal at Tadd’s, you can walk it off on the “runway”. Hahaha. ✌

I’m gonna let you go with this million-dollar shot.

See that bright orange corner? That’s Singapore! I refused to shrink it (16.4MB) so you can zoom in to see Singapore’s skyline. (☆^ー^☆) Spot the flyer and Marina Bay Sands!

More on the spa next! Now that was glorious~~ (❁´◡`❁)*✲゚
