Part 3 of Montigo Resorts: The Spa

Start your own band at Montigo’s gift shop! LOL.

Besides the uniform activities you usually find at a beach resort i.e. water sports, spa, gym, fishing, tour of the town, trekking, there are some of the other many possible things at Montigo Resorts.

Indulge in the goodness of life with:

  1. the ✨fireflies✨ tour
  2. yoga
  3. a sunset cruise finished with fireworks display

Romance your other half by:

  1. visiting nearby islands on a personalised, luxury private cruise
  2. renewing your wedding vows

Or hold your *♡೫̥͙*:・ℋɑppყ Ϣәԁԁıɲɠ゚・:* ೫̥͙♡* even! More than possible at Montigo!

And if you’re looking for the unconventional land sports, there is always cycling and golf. However, as Montigo aims to make every moment memorable, these “normal” activities has its very own local touch.

For cycling, you will bike from Montigo resorts to Nongsa Pantai Village. This means conquering adventurous terrains and getting a tour of a local Malay village.

As for golf, don’t fret about making an hour’s trip to hunt down a world-class 18-hole course. There are some just 5 minutes away!

I went conventional with the Batam tour and spa. Not entirely by choice though, I wanted to do the fireflies walk so bad, but I was told it wasn’t the right season.

Anyway… I. Lᵒᵛᵉd. The. Spa.

DSC_4506My body totally needed a massage and this spa gave me that and more.

OK, get your minds out of the gutter people.

Or you may think I was gonna say something cliche like “it wasn’t just the massage, it was the experience”, well no.

Yes, the experience was amazing. But the massage I had was not just a massage.

It was therapy. It was healing.

Back Reliever

My pick on the menu. 1 hour for an estimate of $66SGD excluding taxes. Its description doesn’t do it justice, so let me tell you more about it.

It may say “Swedish massage” in its description, but I asked for the hardest one they can give and they brought it alright!

OK, stop thinking dirty.

When I read the part about warm spice and herbal blends, I thought it was just the essential oils they were gonna use.

Noooo. I was so wrong.

My therapist lined my backbone with ginger paste. Like, what? Sounds like nothing special right? I mean, who hasn’t had ginger before… But wow, this. It’s nothing I’ve ever had!!!! ˚‧*♡ॢ˃̶̤̀◡˂̶̤́♡ॢ*‧˚

It got spicier by the second. It got so spicy and hot that I felt it penetrate right into the tissues of my back. You know the feeling where it’s so hot, it’s cooling? Well yeah, a bit like Salon Pas but way, way more glorious. ٩(ó。ò۶ ♡)))♬

Never felt anything like this before!!!!!! (๑॔˃̶ॢ◟◞ ˂̶ॢ๑॓)♡  On top of that, my therapist used the essential oil of my choice.

My back felt so soft and loosened up after. My therapist, who had magical hands (and strength) continued to knead away.

And really, she spared no mercy when I asked for a hard massage. ♥╣[-_-]╠♥

Verdict: The BEST massage ever! ♥(✿ฺ´∀`✿ฺ)ノ

For the next whole week, I felt like a new person! ლ(-༗‿༗-)ლ So good.

Don’t think I have had such an impactful, effective treatment before. Because usually, if it isn’t the mediocre type that leaves me wanting for more, it’s the decent kind that wears off after a day or two.

I also admire how Montigo’s spa isn’t one of those places that use their ambience and facilities to cover up for unimpressive, forgettable massages (*cough* Healthland! *cough*). Sononui and I called it “Hell Land” since the time we walked outta there unsatisfied. Such a ripoff. t(-_-t) The service was bad too.

At Montigo, it was quality treatment, quality service, awesome environment! ☆*✲゚*。(((´♡‿♡`+)))。*゚✲*☆ And remember, it’s only Batam.

spa-poolDidn’t get a chance to dip in this pool, but man, the hot hot sun made it all the more inviting.

Which brings me to the next topic: The ✨experience✨.

I’m gonna keep this short.

Environment: Excellent. Peaceful, great ambience, relaxing, lovely scents here and there.  ✿♥‿♥✿ Pretty pretty pretty.

Service: Great concierge, wonderful masseuse. Nice variety of essential oils to choose from, plus they kept serving yummy cookies and drinks! ॱ॰⋆(˶ॢ‾᷄﹃‾᷅˵ॢ)ӵᵘᵐᵐᵞ♡♡♡

Spa cabins: Beautiful. I could fall sleep on the massage bed, to the sound of the calm waves. I like how the bed was very sturdy. OK stop… AH I give up!

The bathroom is very prettily decorated too! Not to mention the toiletries are quality ones. The only downside to having bamboo flooring is that the cabin vibrates whenever my masseuse walked around.

Price: Approximately $66.05SGD for an hour’s therapy before taxes. I consider this reasonable because it lasts! Initially I thought if it’s only $30-40, I would have come every day, but it would have been redundant. The effects of it practically lasted a week!

Glorious. Just glorious.

Even the terry robe I wore for 5 minutes during my foot soak was top notch! It was the most comfortable thing I’ve worn. I didn’t wanna take it off. Too bad I paid for the massage already. Hahaha.

The insides were lined with cotton! It felt like I was wearing a comforter that won’t slip off!!!!!! ( ′ॢ◡̶͂‵ ॢ )♡*.

But all good things come to an end. I had to lose the robe after 5 minutes.

Oh right, and the massage was over after an hour. Hahahaha. Sorry, got a bit lost there.

beachSee these villas by the beach? Some of them have an attached hut to them. They’re called the Spa Villas. Scroll up to get a closer view in the photo of the pool.

If you come, check out the 150-year-old spa hut. It is 2 storeys high and stands all on its own. I heard it was imported in its original form too!

If I come back, I wanna stay in a spa villa! I mean, you have an attached hut as your backyard. How cool is that?!

My villa was pretty darn sweet too. ( •ॢ◡-ॢ)-♡ Tell you ALL about it in my next article!✨✨
